About us

Hey, I’m Elric 👋

Welcome to placefortech.com â€“ my corner of the internet where I share the tech stuff I’m actually learning and using.

By day, I’m a Network Consulting Engineer. By night (and weekends!), I’m writing here about networking (routing, switching, protocols like BGP/OSPF), Linux (sysadmin life, tools, servers), programming (mostly Python for automation), and other cool tech that catches my eye (cloud, tech gadgets, DevOps tools, whatever!).

Why this blog?
Simple: I learn best by teaching. If I figure out how something works or solve a tricky problem, I write it up here. No fluff, just practical stuff from the trenches – configs, scripts, gotchas, and lessons learned.

Who’s it for?

  • Network folks looking to level up or branch out.
  • Linux admins and DevOps engineers.
  • Coders interested in infrastructure/automation.
  • Anyone curious about how tech works behind the scenes!

Think of this as my public notebook. Dive in, find something useful, and maybe leave a comment. Let’s geek out together!
